Students and professors from the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), an institution part of the Uniservitate Service-Learning Programme in Higher Education, set up the "Volunteer Center" to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the war. Since the first week of the Russian invasion, they have designed the logistics to receive aid from abroad, process urgent requests for help and deliver to each family what is needed.
More than 100 students joined this Humanitarian Front. They contributed with their different initiatives, such as weaving camouflage nets (photo 1), a workshop for writing letters to the military on the front line, postcards for the military from UCU students (photo 2), a baking workshop for the military and a children’s room for internally displaced children.
Not only did medical students actively participate in this Humanitarian Front, but also the School of Journalism and Media Communications, together with the Information and Marketing Department, published text and video materials on the university's website. Thanks to this, they offer access to many local news and infographics, as well as essential information and practical advice for daily life during the war.
All the information about the actions and work of the UCU students can be found in this article.
