Meeting between CLAYSS Uruguay and the Red Global de Aprendizajes [Global Learning Network]
Within the framework of the Service-Learning Uruguayan Network, CLAYSS Uruguay has coordinated actions and strategies of joint work with the Red Global de Aprendizajes [Global Learning Network] that have allowed to optimise and enrich the initiatives that both organisations carry out in educational centres and institutions in Uruguay.
In May, there was a new addition to this space as an integration practice: the educational centres María Espínola [website in Spanish], a line of public education policy that seeks to strengthen the role of educational centres as a development factor in the territory, strengthening the management and teaching teams of these centres. Twelve educational centres worked with this initiative in 2021 to achieve this objective, and in 2022, it is planned to reach 30 Uruguayan centres.
CLAYSS Uruguay, the Red Global de Aprendizajes [Global Learning Network] and the educational centres María Espínola are working together during 2022 in three institutions: Sequeira school (Artigas), Pintadito school (Artigas) and Villa Constitución school (Salto). The experience set a pilot of integration between institutions and different pedagogical models.
The work process will include the view of evaluators from the Educational Evaluation Institute (INEED, Spanish acronym) [website in Spanish], chaired by Dr. Javier Lasida, who carried out together with Daniel Georgetti the research "Procesos de instalación del aprendizaje-servicio en las políticas públicas. The case of Argentina and Uruguay [Processes of service-learning implementation in public policies. The case of Argentina and Uruguay]" in 2020.
Its final objective is to permanently interconnect a set of centres within one of the most important initiatives in the curriculum reform that Uruguay has been carrying out: the expansion of the model of the educational centres María Espínola as an inclusive and quality educational proposal throughout the national territory.
