Award ceremony of the Solidarity Education Contest in Uruguay
This time, the competition, expected by formal and non-formal educational institutions in Uruguay every year, awarded 11 community-based education experiences led by students, developed in educational centres, civil society organisations and detention centres.
CLAYSS representatives, authorities from the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), UNESCO, the Organisation of Ibero-American States-OEI Uruguay office, the Institute for Social Inclusion of Adolescents (INISA) and the National Institute of Educational Evaluation (INEEd) and the civil organisation "El Chajá" participated in the award ceremony celebrated in the context of the 4th Service-Learning Conference in Uruguay.
Some of the award winners include the following institutions:
UNICEF Special Mention awarded to Centro Las Piedras, INISA-Canelones, for its project "Mini fábrica didáctica [Mini didactic factory]".
Award to the Rural School of Vergara (Treinta y Tres) for its project "Los optimizadores de recursos [Resource optimizers]."
Award to the Montes High School, Canelones, for its project "Soñar, actuar, lograr un liceo integral [Dreaming, doing, achieving a comprehensive high school]."
Award to the Teacher Training Institute of Tacuarembó for its project "Construyendo vínculos sanadores [Establishing healing ties]."
Award to the UTU (University of Labour of Uruguay) in Young, Río Negro, for its project "Ayudando a mi barrio [Helping my neighbourhood]."
Award to the No. 47 high school in Montevideo for its project "Jugando en serio se Aprende [Playing seriously is learning]."
Award to UTEC [public university with a technological profile] in Durazno for its project "Campamento Lechero [Dairy camp]."
Award to Kindergarten No. 138 in Paso de los Toros, Tacuarembó, for its project "Plantas aromáticas [Aromatic plants]."
Award to the UTU Mercedes in Soriano for its project "Jugar toda la vida [Playing for life]."
Award to the NGO Club de Niños La Tablada in Salto for its project "Nuestro amigo el Parque Solari [Our friend Solari Park]."
Award to the Rural High School in Sequeira-Centro María Espínola in Artigas for the project "Talleres Arambé [Arambé workshops]."
