First meeting of the Serbian Service-Learning Network
On 23rd June, the first meeting of this brand-new National Network was held in Novi Sad, Serbia. Organized by Kolping Srbija, an organization that promotes projects to change and improve life in the communities of the region, the meeting was attended by representatives of organizations and institutions interested in service-learning. For years it has been possible to observe how different schools in the area carry out school projects to build bridges with their communities. For that reason, the core of this first meeting was to share experiences and discuss what has been done, and the possibilities for the future, in addition to the implementation of a common platform of cooperation that promotes, supports and evaluates service-learning projects.
All this was possible due to CLAYSS support provided to Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) since 2015, together with its partner organization MIOS Tuzla (International Association "Interactive Open Schools"). Since 2009 MIOS has been working on SL projects in Bosnia-Herzegovina and lately, with CLAYSS support, has expanded in the region through the Central and Eastern European Service-Learning Network.
