First service-learning in the arts conference in Bosnia and Herzegovina
On 28th June, the Bosnian Genesis Project held a virtual conference to share approximately ten service-learning in the arts projects developed during 2019, 2020 and 2021. The presentations of the protagonists —teachers, school authorities, local authorities and students— emphasized the strong curriculum connection with their projects and how they are combined with solidarity actions. Music, literature, cinema, plastic arts and theatre among others were implemented to redecorate and give new meaning to public spaces, offer cultural events, promote local traditions, etc., always promoting the active participation of students and improving their communities.
Since 2016, CLAYSS has been working with this organization through the Service-Learning Promotion Programme in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the "Service-Learning in the Arts" Support Programme. Candelaria Ferrara from the Eastern Europe Programme team and Pablo Buján from the Service-Learning in the Arts Programme welcomed the participants.
We congratulate the Genesis Project and the schools on their hard work and effort to promote quality education, contributing to improving their communities through the arts.
