CLAYSS Uruguay launches the Support Programme for educational institutions
In August, CLAYSS Uruguay launched the Support Programme for Educational Institutions, one of the strategic policies to support service-learning projects.
This time CLAYSS team supports 53 institutions from 15 departments throughout the country, both in rural and urban areas. Among those participating institutions, there are kindergartens, primary, secondary and technical schools, teacher training institutes, universities and higher education institutions, in addition to CAIF (Child and Family Assistance Centres), INISA (institute for social inclusion of adolescents) and INR (National Institute for Rehabilitation) from the context of confinement institutions, as well as other civil society organizations.
The programme provides each institution with economic support to strengthen and develop projects, scholarships for online courses and SL training material and bibliography. It also provides training, onsite and/or online monitoring by a team of 21 CLAYSS members coordinated by Alejandro Gimelli and Catalina Thölke.
On 23rd July, the launching of the Programme was held with the monitoring team, along with the CLAYSS Uruguay team. Alejandra Catibiela and Marianela Fernández were also present, together with Lucila Leis, President of the Uruguayan Volunteer Center, CVU-CLAYSS.
